Nanotechnology Matters: A Teacher Resource

The study of nanotechnology has the potential to excite students and teachers, and nanotechnology can illustrate many strands of science. Bridge8 has launched a resource for teachers containing a number of nanotechology expermtnets called Nanotechnology Matters.

We were fortunate to be able to work with Daniel Tune, a Bachelor of Nanotechnology student at Flinders Univerity. Daniel has adapted six key experiments from activities carried out at Flinders University to make them readily adaptable for Australian classrooms. These experiments include:

  • Molecular Interactions (using 'magic sand')
  • Shape Memory Alloys
  • Liquid Crystals
  • Sunscreens
  • NanoGold
  • Ferrofluids

The images and methods contained in this publication are the property of Bridge8 and Flinders University. Approval for use for educational purposes is given freely with appropiate acknowledgement of Bridge8 and Flinders University. Approval for other purposes can be requested from Bridge8.
